Here’s a tip:
A great day out for all the family is the ecological , historical preserve of Xcaret, just south of Riviera Maya which can be reached easily from Cancun and Tulum. Swim underground rivers and explore Mayan culture.
Arriba! Mexico has so much to offer visitors, from ancient ruins, white sand beaches, crystal clear seas.
The popular Caribbean coastline of the Yucatan Peninsula, stretches from Tulum in the south to Cancun in the north. Cancun is lively busy and has a hotel to suit most tastes. Moving south you reach quieter Riviera Maya where hotels sit in their own pace on the beach and tend to be surrounded by lush tropical landscapes. Further again and you reach Tulum famous for the Mayan Ruins and can be a good choice for those looking for a quieter vibe with a cultural element. If your super interested in the Mayan culture the famous Chichen Itza ruins are about a 2 hour drive inland. Hotels on the Yucatan Peninsula ten to be large, all inclusive, 4 or 5* and with an impressive range of facilities.

Over on the Pacific coast you'll find Cabo san Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo, collectively know as Los Cabos. This is a select resort and the atmosphere is laid back chic – hotels here are deluxe and the resorts are a firm favourite with the A list visitors. The quality of Cabos is high, excellent shopping, lively nightlife with a good choice of venues.
If you want to see more than the beaches there are some excellent touring options for Mexico that discover the legacy of the Aztecs and Mayans.
There are brightly coloured colonial towns in the north and central areas of Mexico, indigenous communities where you can meet Mayans
When to go: Mexico is a huge country and weather varies by season and region. The best time to visit is December to April when the temperatures are a little lower and the humidity ease. The summer months of May to October can be hot and humid with the chance of storms on the Yucatan Peninsula.
We love the Grand Velas hotels – with one property in Los Cabos and two on the Yucatan. Grand Velas are a great example of truly luxurious all-inclusive hotels.
